Digital x-rays are used to examine the internal structure of objects without altering them.
Film x-rays can be taken on site so the evidence remains undisturbed
CT
Computed Tomography is essentially a computer controlled 3D x-ray. It’s useful for examining more complex objects in 3 dimensional space without altering them.
SEM
Scanning Electron Microscopy allows much higher magnification than with standard optical procedures. SEM also provides excellent depth of field.
EDS
Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy uses x-rays in an SEM to identify inorganic materials.
FTIR
Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy is used to determine the chemical compounds found in organic substances.
